PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

• Screenings and therapy services (speech, physical, and occupational) for children with special needs
• Infant/Young Child Mental Health Therapy & Child Psychiatry Services and Psychological Services
• Grief Support Groups for children experiencing loss due to death, divorce, separation and abandonment
• Fetal Alcohol Diagnostic Assessment and Intervention Clinic - For children with pre-natal exposure to alcohol and their families
• Developmental screenings, trainings, mentoring, and early intervention services to child care providers/teachers
• Early Childhood Education - For both typically developing children and those with special needs
• Healthy Families Program - To prevent child abuse and neglect
• Outreach services for Hispanic families
• Family/Marital Counseling
• Behavioral Support Services and Parent Education Classes - Foster/Adoptive Parent Training
 

VISIBLE RESULTS

• Annually more than 400 children participate in our Early Childhood Education Program and/or receive developmental therapy services.
• Over 9,000 developmental therapy sessions are provided each year to local children birth to 8 years of age.
• Over 550 families were served in one year through the Healthy Families Program.
• Each year in the U.S. between 35,000 and 40,000 babies are born with fetal alcohol-related disorder. Thanks to our new Fetal Alcohol Diagnostic and Intervention Clinic, we are able to diagnose children who may be affected so appropriate interventions and services may be initiated and trained 405 individuals statewide on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
• In one year The Florida Center served approx. 3,000 children and family members.
