at the 12th Annual
Thunder By The Bay Motorcycle Festival
January 8-10, 2010

The 12th Annual Thunder By the Bay Motorcycle Festival continues to rev up a great time raising money for Suncoast Charities for Children (formerly known as the Suncoast Foundation for the Handicapped, Inc.).

The weekend begins with a “Born To Be Wild” Kickoff Party on  Friday night under the PAL Sailor Circus Arena (tickets $15 in advance through Rossiter’s or Manatee River Harley-Davidson) or $20 the night of the event.  This years Kickoff Party features The Greg Billings Band and Tucci Group.   The fun continues on  Saturday with a “Bikes, Bands & BBQ” Event at Payne Park in Downtown Sarasota offering FREE admission to all who attend from 11:30 am until 5:30 pm.   The day will feature plenty of vendors, demo displays, great food, live music by Highway to Hell and Nuthin Fancy (Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Band).   On Sunday the day begins with a Motorcycle “Ride for Cash” beginning at Centennial Park by the Sarasota Bayfront between 9 am – 11 am.  The Festival continues with a bike show and downtown Festival on Main Street (from 11am until 5 pm) featuring lots of motorcycles, food, vendors, live entertainment by the Bobby Friss Band and Tucci Group on two stages.

To date, over $725,000 has been raised from this annual Festival to help local children and families in the Sarasota area.  Suncoast Charities is a non-profit agency supporting local charities serving children with special needs such as Special Olympics, Loveland Center, Community Haven and Adult Center, The Florida Center, and United Cerebral Palsy.
